Karina Rose - Creative Designer

With over 7 years of design experience and a diploma in Digital Media Technologies, I have worked on hundreds of design projects. I specialize in web designing and developing using PHP and CSS with the odd jQuery or JavaScript for dynamic sites. But never mind my professional experience and education. Any qualified graphic designer has those... Let me share my passion with you.

I love creativity. Taking something plain and generic and turning it into something beautifully creative is a passion of mine. You could suggest any creative experience and I would jump at it. Music has been a passion of mine since I was 5 years old. Drawing and painting have been hobbies, and photography is a new favourite pastime. Creativity is not just a job for me, but it's something that is ingrained in my identity.

My creative eye, combined with my natural gifts and acquired skill in the field of graphic design, allow me to help you build a web presence that is visually appealing and fully functioning.

What do Monet, Picasso and Dali have in common with web designer Karina Finstad? Artistic creativity. If they were living in today's world, their art would fit well with the creative design that Finstad brings to her web pages. She truly puts the 'design' back into "Web Design." Web design balances artistic creativity and technical expertise to create the best end product, much like the great painters of old.

Beautiful images, vibrant colours, inspiring messages; with a whole palette of modern tools, Finstad creates art using the modern medium of the internet. Her tools are the bits and bytes of design applications with evocative names like Dreamweaver and Cascading Style Sheets. The mouse is her paintbrush.

Finstad's artistic abilities started at a young age with music (she plays both piano and guitar) and continued in high school where she was introduced to web design. She knew then that she wanted to be a web designer. Finstad attended the two-year Diploma program in Digital Design at Malaspina University-College, and chose the Internet Production option.

Her six week practicum was spent working at V3 Mediaworks, a web design company that specializes in innovative designs for businesses all over the world. V3's owner, Jamie Penner, was impressed by her artistic approach to design and hired her upon completion of her practicum.

She realized this was her dream job, "I enjoy the creative design and flexibility," she explains.

To prospective web designers Finstad had this advice: "go to school and learn all you can and pay attention." Asked about her future plans she replied, "I would even consider going back to school to learn more."
